The greatest compliment that you can give to any leader is not reciting his accomplishments, but that he is trustworthy. He is a man who honors God, his family, and those whom he leads. A man that listens before he speaks, and that seeks to understand before he offers advice. Since I met Mike Edwards two years ago, I have now come to know him as this kind of man.
Mike has provided me with a safe and trusted space where I can explore and discuss thoughts about my personal leadership, the direction of my company and the vision that God has given me for it. Moreover, he has instilled in me the confidence and executive level coaching to go after it!
I remember some time ago making a comment to Mike about needing a COO to help scale our company. I mentioned someone that seemed out of reach for me, but Mike implored me to reach out to him. I followed his advice which resulted in that COO joining our company, positioning us to scale beyond anything I realistically envisioned.
Finally, I would say that the hallmark of Mike’s leadership is that he leads with listening. Additionally, he asks insightful questions that challenge, inspire and motivate me to take appropriate action.
